1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using WeekHack ("the Service"), operated at weekhack.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Service.
We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
2. Description of Service
WeekHack is a weekly product launch platform where makers can submit their products, receive community votes, and compete for weekly rankings. The Service includes:
- Product submission and listing pages
- Community voting on weekly launches
- Commenting and discussion features
- Weekly winner rankings and badges
- Maker profiles
- Premium launch options and add-on services
- Sponsor placements and advertising
- Newsletter and blog content
- API access for programmatic product submissions
3. User Accounts
To use certain features of the Service, you must create an account. You may register using your email address and a password, or through a third-party authentication provider (Google or GitHub).
- You must provide accurate and complete information when creating your account.
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials, including passwords and API keys.
- You must not share your account with others or create multiple accounts to manipulate voting or rankings.
- You must verify your email address before accessing protected features such as submitting products, voting, or posting comments.
- You must be at least 16 years of age to create an account.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
4. Product Submissions
When submitting a product to WeekHack, you agree that:
- You have the right to submit the product and all associated content (name, description, logos, screenshots).
- Your submission does not infringe on any third-party intellectual property rights, trademarks, or copyrights.
- Your product is a genuine product or service, not spam, malware, or fraudulent.
- All submitted information is accurate and not misleading.
- We reserve the right to review, approve, reject, or remove any submission at our sole discretion and without notice.
4.1 Free vs. Premium Launches
Free launches are assigned to a launch week at our discretion and are subject to review. Premium launches ($19) allow you to choose your launch week and skip the review queue. Payment for premium launches is non-refundable once the launch week has started.
4.2 Launch Week Rules
Products are grouped into weekly launch cycles (Monday through Sunday). Voting is open only during the active launch week. Winners are determined by total votes at the end of each week.
5. Voting & Community Guidelines
By participating in voting and community features, you agree to:
- Vote honestly based on your genuine assessment of each product.
- Not manipulate votes through multiple accounts, bots, vote trading, or any other artificial means.
- Be respectful in all comments and discussions. No harassment, hate speech, threats, or personal attacks.
- Not post spam, advertisements, or irrelevant promotional content in comments or discussions.
- Not impersonate other users or entities.
We reserve the right to remove content, reset votes, or ban users who violate these guidelines.
6. Payments & Refunds
All payments are processed securely through Stripe. By making a purchase, you agree to Stripe's terms of service.
- Premium launches ($19): Non-refundable once your chosen launch week has started. Refunds may be issued if the launch week has not yet begun.
- Add-on services: Directory submission ($99), SEO review article ($99), and social media promotion ($199) are non-refundable once work has begun. If the service has not yet started, you may request a refund.
- Sponsorships: Sponsor placements are non-refundable once the sponsorship period has started.

7. Intellectual Property
7.1 Your Content
You retain ownership of all content you submit to WeekHack, including product descriptions, logos, screenshots, comments, and discussion posts. By submitting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and promote your content in connection with the Service.
7.2 Our Content
The WeekHack name, logo, design, and all original content created by us (blog posts, winner badges, page layouts) are our intellectual property. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our content without written permission, except for winner badges which you are encouraged to embed and share.
8. API Usage
We provide API access for programmatic product submissions. By using our API, you agree to:
- Keep your API keys secure and not share them with unauthorized parties.
- Not use the API for automated vote manipulation or spam.
- Respect rate limits. Excessive or abusive API usage may result in key revocation.
- Accept that API access may be modified or discontinued at any time.
9. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any applicable law
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service, other user accounts, or our systems
- Upload malicious code, viruses, or any harmful software
- Scrape, crawl, or harvest data from the Service without permission
- Circumvent any security measures or access controls
- Use bots or automated tools to create accounts, vote, or post content
- Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent products
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
10. Third-Party Links & Services
The Service contains links to third-party websites and services, including products submitted by users, sponsor websites, and authentication providers (Google, GitHub). We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or availability of any third-party services. Accessing third-party links is at your own risk.
11. Disclaimers
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that:
- The Service will be uninterrupted or error-free
- Products listed on the platform are of any particular quality
- Voting results reflect any objective measure of product quality
- SEO benefits (such as backlinks or rankings) are guaranteed
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, WeekHack and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Service.
Our total liability to you for any claims arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you have paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless WeekHack and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to:
- Your use of the Service
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any third-party rights
- Content you submit to the Service
14. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Upon termination:
- Your right to use the Service will immediately cease.
- We may delete your account and associated data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
- Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will remain in effect (including Sections 7, 11, 12, and 13).

15. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation first, and if unresolved, through binding arbitration or in the courts of competent jurisdiction.
16. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
